Scripture Union Daily Guide 10th February 2026 — Outline

We have seen God disapproving Judah’s leaders and false prophets in previous readings. This eventually led to the forceful removal of Judah’s king and officials, the craftsmen and artisans to exile in Babylon (Jeremiah 24:1). Imagine the category of people carried away; and what kinds of people are left – most likely, only the poorest and very weak people. How we need to run away from anything evil!

God clearly demarcated between the two groups, the people in exile and the remnant in Jerusalem. Which of the two would one expect to feel more at ease? Notice, however, God’s promises to the Jews in exile (Jeremiah 24:6)? Their time in exile seems to work in their favour. How is that true according to Jeremiah 24:7? God sometimes allows us to have a ‘wilderness’ experience. Some have found that very useful when they make good use of that time in seeking God. Bad leadership continues to bog the remnant in Jerusalem with serious consequence (Jeremiah 24:8-10). Despite the devastation of the land, the leadership neither returns to the Lord nor point the people back to God.

And So
Do you too fail to listen to and obey God as He speaks clearly to you from His word?
